Italian Elegance in Your Garden: Introducing the Licensed Raspberries 'Ambra', 'Parsifal', and 'Clarita'

Raspberries are no longer just the classic red fruit that falls apart after two days in the fridge. Modern breeding brings varieties adapted to the demands of today's growers – from attractive colors to the absence of thorns and extreme shelf life. For the Spring 2026 season, we have added three exclusive licensed (PBR) novelties straight from Italy to our offer that will change your view on growing raspberries.

“These three varieties represent a modern approach to fruit growing. While 'Ambra' brings a visual and taste experience with its orange fruits, 'Clarita' and 'Parsifal' are built for efficiency, fast harvesting, and unrivaled fruit shelf life after picking.”

1. 'Ambra' (BT Rassix): Orange Taste Revolution

Forget sour yellow raspberries. The 'Ambra' variety is considered by many experts to be one of the tastiest orange/yellow raspberries ever bred.

Visuals and Taste That Sell

The fruits have a distinct orange color and a very regular conical shape. They look extremely "appetizing". The flesh is tender, melting, and the taste is strictly dessert-like – very sweet with an intense raspberry aroma.

Double Cropping (Primocane)

'Ambra' bears in two waves. It brings the first, supplementary crop in June on last year's wood. The main crop starts on this year's canes from mid-September and lasts until frosts. Note: Due to the later start of the autumn harvest, it is better suited for warmer and middle-elevation areas.

2. 'Clarita': Thornless Workhorse for Supermarkets

The 'Clarita' variety from Berryplant was bred with a clear goal: to satisfy the demands of commercial growers and retail chains. However, this also means huge benefits for home gardeners.

Zero Thorns, Maximum Shelf Life

The biggest trump card of 'Clarita' is its shelf-life. The fruits retain their firmness, bright light red color, and juiciness long after picking without softening or getting moldy. The second huge benefit is that its strong and upright canes are completely thornless, making harvesting a breeze.

Double Cropping System

It is a primocane variety specifically recommended for a two-crop system. The first wave arrives at the turn of spring and summer, the second wave in autumn. Ripening is mid-early and very even. Additionally, it is characterized by high frost resistance and a strong immune system against diseases.

3. 'Parsifal' (BT Rifiorente): Efficiency First

The 'Parsifal' variety is a masterpiece for modern growing systems. Its strengths do not lie in extreme fruit size, but in the intelligent design of the plant.

Intelligent Harvesting

This medium-tall bush only grows up to 160 cm, so it does not require complicated and expensive support structures. What sets 'Parsifal' apart from others is the physics of its fruits. The berries are bright red, sweet, and hold firmly to the stems – they don't drop in the wind or when overripe. However, as soon as you gently pull them during harvesting (or use a harvesting machine), they release extremely easily. This rapidly increases harvesting speed.

Fruiting: By standard, it brings an early summer crop (from mid-July) on last year's wood. Genetically, however, it belongs to the varieties that can also fruit in the autumn if the grower decides to do so with appropriate pruning.
