The 'Aroma Spur SÄULENSÜßKIRSCHE Rot' (Prunus avium) is a special variety which is characterised by its compact growth and high yield. It reaches a height of 2-3 metres and its columnar shape makes it ideal for growing in small gardens, on terraces or balconies. This variety is popular for its attractive appearance and minimal space requirement.
The cherry prefers a sunny site and a humid, well-drained soil. It requires moderate watering and it is important to avoid waterlogging.
This cherry is self-pollinating and does not require another variety for pollination, which makes it easy to grow.
For optimum growth, it is recommended to fertilise twice a year - in spring (March) and summer (May) with a garden fertiliser.
The fruit ripens from June to July (months VI-VII). They are heart-shaped, deep red in colour and have a delicious sweet taste. They are ideal for direct consumption, pickling or baking. Summer pruning is recommended after flowering. The side shoots are cut back to 2-3 buds to maintain the characteristic columnar shape.
The variety is resistant to frosts down to -20 °C. When growing in containers, young plants should be protected from hard frosts.
The 'Aroma Spur' cherry is organically grown. Its packaging is made from recycled materials, which promotes sustainability and environmental friendliness. In addition, the columnar shape of this cherry tree not only provides high utility, but also a decorative element for any garden.
This fruit tree is a great choice for anyone looking for an unpretentious, self-pollinating cherry tree with excellent fruit flavour and aesthetic appeal. The 'Aroma Spur Saulensuskirsche Rot' pole cherry is ideal for both modern urban gardens and organic growing.
