Chestnut (Castanea sativa x mollissima x crenata) SZEGO

The 'Szego' chestnut ( Castanea sativa × Castanea mollissima × Castanea crenata ) is a hybrid variety created by combining European, Chinese and Japanese chestnuts. This combination ensures resistance to disease, in different climatic conditions and the production of large, tasty fruits. The 'Szego' variety is popular with gardeners and commercial growers. 

The fruits of 'Szego' are large to very large, dark brown and glossy, with a smooth skin that peels easily.
